Kuwait intends to double gas production

DOHA, Sep 18 – PRIME. Kuwait expects to double natural gas production – from about 1.4 million to 2.8 million cubic meters, said Nawaf Saud al-Sabah, general director of the Kuwait oil corporation Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

Kuwait increased production within the OPEC+ quota

“We are working in Kuwait to increase gas production to keep up with growing global demand and provide new investment opportunities for petrochemicals. Free gas production is currently over 500 million cubic feet (about 1.4 million cubic meters – ed.), and the goal is to reach one billion cubic feet (about 2.8 million cubic meters – ed.),” the Ar-Rayi newspaper quotes the words of the corporation’s CEO on the sidelines of the opening of the Gulf Gas Producers Conference.

According to al-Sabah, Kuwait’s strategic plans to increase gas production are aimed at reaching a billion cubic feet, and the country has the capacity to export gas.
