Media: in the Balkans they ask Erdogan to discuss gas supplies with Putin in winter

Balkan leaders asked Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan to discuss gas supplies to their countries in an upcoming meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to avoid problems during the winter months, Haberler.com reported on Wednesday, citing Agriculture and Forestry Minister Vahit Kirisci.

Erdogan made a tour of the Balkan countries last week. This week, the Turkish leader is expected to attend the SCO summit in Samarkand at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, where, as planned, the leaders of Turkey and the Russian Federation will hold talks.

“First we visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, then Serbia, and then Croatia. The proposal made by the presidents and prime ministers of all three countries, as well as ministers at the level of the interlocutors, was: “Please, you will be at the Shanghai summit on the next (on the current ) week. Please pass it on to Putin. You have good relations with Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan, please ask them not to reduce either our fuel oil or the gas they supply in the coming winter,” the minister said.

After the start of the special operation, the West increased sanctions pressure on Russia, which led to an increase in prices for electricity, fuel and food in Europe and the United States. Putin said that the policy of containment and weakening of Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and the sanctions dealt a serious blow to the entire world economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
