Megafon and Yota to merge retail chains by the end of 2023

MOSCOW, 4 Oct — PRIME. Russian mobile operators Megafon and Yota will merge their retail networks by the end of 2023, the first three joint communication stores have already been launched in Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnogorsk and Yegorievsk, the press service of Megafon said.

“The project to merge the Megafon and Yota retail chains will be completed before the end of 2023. It will increase the efficiency of retail, reduce network development costs by a third and increase traffic in stores by 15%,” the report says. It is specified that the project includes both the opening of new salons and the merger of existing ones.

In the updated salons, subscribers of the two operators will be able to connect a SIM card, including switching to an operator with a saved number, connect digital products, as well as purchase smartphones, tablets, routers, smart home devices, travel and healthy lifestyle products, as well as gadgets for children.

According to Oleg Telyukov, Operations Director of MegaFon, now Yota subscribers will be able to connect services and get advice in any salon in all regions where MegaFon has a presence. He also stressed that the merger will reduce development costs by a third and provide the subscribers of the two operators with maximum opportunities in the field of customer service.

“Until the end of 2023, all own salons and those operating under a franchise will start working in a new format. The first three joint co-branded salons have already been launched in Nizhny Novgorod, Krasnogorsk and Yegoryevsk,” MegaFon noted.
