Miami Dolphins football team will accept payments at LTC

The American football team Miami Dolphins has teamed up with the Litecoin Foundation to accept payments in cryptocurrency.

Judging by the statement
Litecoin Foundation, the joint work will begin on September 5, the day of the start of the season of the US National Football League 2019. From this point on, the football team will start accepting lightcoin as the “official cryptocurrency”.

This means that fans will be able to pay LTC and BTC when they purchase tickets for the 50/50 lottery, organized by the team, half of which is donated to charity. The implementation of cryptocurrency payments will be possible thanks to a third partner – Aliant Payments.

Lightcoin Creator and Litecoin Foundation Managing Director Charlie Lee said:

“This cooperation will increase the popularity of lightcoin among millions of people around the world. The introduction of cryptocurrency continues to gain momentum, and the ecosystem is able to support real cases of use in ways that were previously impossible. We see this as a powerful impulse to raise awareness about Litecoin and other cryptocurrencies. ”

Such a partnership is not the first experience of the Litecoin Foundation in the sports industry. Last December, the Litecoin Foundation announced
that will sponsor a mixed martial arts tournament organized by the UFC. According to the foundation, this should increase the adoption of cryptocurrency.
