Microsoft Teams will receive new features

Microsoft Teams has long been a leader in video conferencing services and software. However, during the pandemic, its positions were somewhat shaken, and users began to turn to other platforms and services (Zoom, Discord and others), ready to offer more functionality for less money.

In March 2021, the Microsoft Teams team plans to release an update that should significantly improve the work of the service with a group of participants, as well as expand the functionality for showing presentations.

First of all, an innovation called Dynamic View is reported. This feature allows you to make presentations by showing videos, slides or images in high quality. During such an online demonstration, the program interface will undergo some changes: the main space will be allocated to content, while thumbnails of the participants will appear on the right side of the screen. This solution will definitely appeal to business owners who need to regularly hold conferences with the demonstration of graphs, reports and other important information.

After the upgrade, active speakers will be highlighted in Microsoft Teams. At the same time, the rest of the conference participants will have the opportunity to signal other users about the desire to express their opinion on the topic under discussion. Thus, the company wants to avoid unpleasant situations when, during a heated discussion of a topic, people begin to interrupt each other. It is noteworthy that today Microsoft Teams is the only service that implements such functionality, while competitors do not have such a function.

Despite the shift in the position of Teams in the global ranking of video conferencing services, the number of active users of the Microsoft platform is growing. The foreign edition of The Verge noted that over the past year, this figure was 115 million.
