MSI and Gigabyte invest in Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Ti over AMD Radeon RX Vega

Since the launch of AMD’s graphics cards Radeon RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64, many users have been waiting for models from partner manufacturers. Previous data suggest, however, that these may be delayed until as late as November, partly due to poor access to graphics circuits.

German Tom’s Hardware now reports that there will only be a very limited number of models from partner manufacturers. Among other things, Gigabyte is said to skip the Radeon RX Vega 64 altogether and only launch an RX Vega 56 in the company’s Gaming G1 series.

Even for MSI, the situation is currently unclear, where they say that a model from them will be delayed. According to previous information, this is partly due to poor access, but also because the circuits come in three different variants from three different actors that put together a graphics circuit with HBM memory on a substrate. This complicates the work of developing own cards as all circuits partner manufacturers may not be the same.

Instead of the Radeon RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64, partner manufacturers are focusing on the upcoming Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 Ti, which is expected to be launched soon. However, an exact launch date for this has not yet been announced.
