MOSCOW, 16 Oct – PRIME. An American businessman, the head of SpaceX and Tesla, promised to continue financing the maintenance of the Starlink satellite communications system for Ukraine.
Russia is trying to ‘kill’ Starlink in Ukraine, Musk says
“To hell with it… Although Starlink is still losing money, and other companies receive billions of dollars from taxpayers, we will continue to fund the Ukrainian government for free,” he wrote in his microblog in Twitter.
Musk previously said that SpaceX would no longer be able to pay for Starlink service in Ukraine. US media reported that SpaceX is asking the Pentagon to cover the costs.
At the moment, about 20 thousand Starlink terminals have been transferred to Kyiv. As Musk reported, it cost $80 million, and by the end of the year, expenses will exceed $100 million.
