New F-Series models coming for Intel Comet Lake-S CPU: the details

THE Intel Comet Lake-S processors they are ready to fight the good guys AMD Ryzen 3000 series presented last May, all promising very high clock frequencies and a good propensity to overclock. Intel's new proposal for the desktop consumer segment will be quite complex, offering on the one hand an increase in the number of cores (see 10-core Core i9-10900K recently spotted on 3D Mark), on the other a wide choice of models, including new products for the Core F series (without integrated GPU).

According to rumors leaked from the portal Informatics Cero, the Comet Lake-S line provides, like the previous generation, 6 models of the F-series processor, starting from the cheapest Core i5 to the more powerful Core i9. Here are the models that emerged from what seems to all intents and purposes an Intel presentation slide:

Presented during CES 2019 with the Core 9th gen processors "Coffee Lake-S", the line Intel Core F (or KF according to the model) keeps the specifications of the standard models unchanged, except for the iGPU which is disabled. The result is a chip that should consume and heat less, but at the same time a solution that will always need a dedicated graphics card.

Taking the slide shown above, the most interesting model is certainly the 10-core / 20-thread i9-10900KF cores which, like the other K models, will offer the unlocked clock multiplier; the base frequency is 3.7 GHz with 5.1 GHz Turbo and a 5.3 GHz peak thanks to Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology. Although the iGPU is disabled, the chip's TDP remains at 125W, like the Core i9-10900K.

At the moment we have no details on prices which, as reiterated on other occasions, should be lower than those of the 9th gen Core line, if only to keep up with the Ryzen 3rd gen as regards the performance / price ratio.
