Next-generation electric motorcycles in the Zero and Lightning plans

Electric motorcycles may not be as popular as their car counterparts, so the announcements of the “new generation” models are rather understandable. And it just so happens that so far such miracles have been announced by two American companies – Lightning and Zero.

We do not know much about them, but in the case of a certain SR / F Zera model we have already received trace leaks. These will be confirmed soon, on February 25, i.e. on the day of the SR / F premiere, which should host 20 kWh batteries with an 89 kW electric motor with a capacity of 120 horsepower on its two-wheeled deck. There is talk of the debut of two versions – one with full internal elements, and the other “naked”, which is obviously the opposite of the former.

In turn, a company called Lightning Motorcycles is already preparing a medium-weight electric motorcycle based on its LS-218 superbike. The novelty will be aimed at those who do not need a lot of power. The company aims for a maximum range of 241 km on a single charge, a top speed of 241 km / h and compatibility with a quick charge that would pack the battery in just 35 minutes.

The price is also impressive, starting at $ 12,998. Today we have only a short preview (above), but more information should reach us soon, because the premiere of the new Lightning motorcycle is scheduled for March 2019.
