Nissan’s electric Nismo RC will dent drivers in the seat

After the sporty electric version of the Leaf Nismo from July, Nissan has opted for a zero-emission engine again, but in a much more efficient, track-oriented Nismo RC car. Hence the doubling of power and torque, and even the transformation of the four-wheel drive from the sports division of the concern.

As the manufacturer himself says, “The all-new Leaf Nismo RC shows how we are making us more attractive in terms of power and performance.” The Nismo RC features two electric motors (one in the rear and one in the front) that provide 321 horsepower and 640 Newton meters of torque. That’s more than twice the size of the first 2011 Leaf Nismo RC, sprinting to a hundred in just 3.4 seconds. Of course, Nismo RC also borrowed a lot of solutions from its road cousin. Speech incl. about batteries in the center of the car or inverters for each engine that make the power independently managed on each axis. It comes down to the fact that the current wheel with the most grip will receive the most torque.

Nismo RC is made of carbon fiber (hence its low weight – 1220 kg) and measures 4.5 meters in length and 1.2 meters in height measured from the asphalt. Its premiere is scheduled for December 2 at the annual Nismo festival at Fuji, which will also be accompanied by the Formula E debut. However, the Nismo RC will not reach the general public as six produced units will be shipped around the world for demonstration purposes.
