Nvidia Ampere and Turing will be launched during GTC 2018

In May, it’s been two years since Nvidia launched its latest Pascal architecture used for the company’s GTX 1000 series. When it comes to sequels, it is still unknown when these will be launched and what the name of the circuit will be, but previous reports suggest that the choice falls on either Ampere or Turing.

It has previously been said that a launch of the new models will take place at the GPU Technology Conference 2018 (GTC) and now this information is further confirmed by Tweaktown. These are said to be new graphics cards in Nvidia’s gaming-oriented Geforce GTX series, with either Geforce GTX 1170 and GTX 1180 or Geforce GTX 2070 and GTX 2080.

These are said to be based on the graphics circuit Ampere and offer better performance along with lower power consumption. Nvidia is also said to unveil another graphics circuit called Turing, which is expected to be adapted for AI and machine learning.

The launch is said to take place at the end of April or at the beginning of May. Nvidia has not commented on the information and it is thus only a rumor at present. GPU Technology Conference 2018 runs from March 26-29.
