Nvidia asks resellers to prioritize players

During the past year, there has been a lack of components on several fronts in the component world, where one of these areas is graphics cards. One of the reasons is the increased interest in mining cryptocurrencies and several of the major partner manufacturers have shown a positive attitude to this, as it has led to increased revenues.

The consequence, however, has been rising prices and that customers who want to buy graphics cards for gaming have been left without. Computerbase now reports that Nvidia has contacted several resellers and asked them to prioritize players over so-called miners.

For NVIDIA, gamers come first. All activities related to our GeForce product line are targeted at our main audience. To ensure that GeForce gamers continue to have good GeForce graphics card availability in the current situation, we recommend that our trading partners make the appropriate arrangements to meet gamers’ needs as usual.

Nvidia emphasizes, however, that this is only a recommendation from the company, and that they would never interfere in how the resellers choose to conduct their business. One of those who has chosen to make changes is the German retailer Caseking, which limits the number of graphics cards to two per customer.
