Nvidia, at the beginning of 2022 new GeForce RTX 3000 SUPER GPUs for notebooks?

Nvidia could reveal early next year new GeForce GPUs RTX 3000 for branded laptops SUPER, first introduced in summer 2019 with the RTX 2000 series un leaker su Twitter, corroborating an image circulated on Reddit regarding the specs of an alleged ThinkPad X1 Extreme G4 in which RTX 3070 SUPER and RTX 3080 SUPER solutions were mentioned as options.

There is no information on the specifications of these futuristic GeForce RTX 3000 SUPER for notebooks and on the other hand it is good to remember how the current mobile range of Nvidia is based on three chips: GA104 for RTX 3080 and 3070, GA106 in the case of the RTX 3060 and GA107 for the newer RTX 3050 Ti and 3050. The term SUPER would imply a increase in the number of CUDA cores compared to today’s solutions, but the RTX 3080 is already equipped with 6144 CUDA core, which is the maximum expression of the GA104.

In the past there have been rumors of Nvidia’s development of a GPU called GA103, but those rumors have fallen by the wayside and there has also been talk of the alleged cancellation of the project. Will it be dusted off for the occasion? Hard to say. Then there is another issue to consider: if Nvidia were to reuse the SUPER brand, how would it fit it into the desktop lineup where it has already introduced three Ti solutions? Will it only keep it in the notebook field? So there remain some questions about the indiscretion, but if there is a grain of truth, we will certainly talk about it again.
