Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan X gets stuck in the picture

Rumors surrounding new graphics cards in the top segment have flourished throughout the winter, which means that Nvidia’s unveiling of the flagship Geforce GTX Titan X hardly came as a total surprise. The company’s CEO Jen-Hsun Huang premiered the model at GDC 2015, revealing, among other things, 12 GB of video memory and as many as eight billion transistors.

Now the first copies have also found their way to reviewers. The website Techgage has picked up the camera and documents the Geforce GTX Titan X from every conceivable angle, which reveals in more detail what the model looks like in practice.

The card has a black cooler in the same style as the Geforce GTX 980 and extra power supply via 6 + 8-pin PCI Express. The back lacks a cover plate, but has a total of twelve GDDR5 memory capsules. There are also dual SLI connectors on site for the possibility of aligning two or three graphics cards.

However, the exact specifications are still obscured. The Geforce GTX Titan X probably has the GM200 graphics processor, but whether it is the whole circuit or a scaled-down variant is unknown. Earlier rumors speak of as many as 3,072 CUDA cores and a 384-bit memory bus, which in that case means a real step up from GM204 in the Geforce GTX 980.

When Nvidia Geforce GTX Titan X will be launched and what the price tag lands on is still unknown. However, the fact that copies have already landed with reviewers indicates that the premiere may not be too far away.
