Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050: The Entry Level Got More Power!

An increase of 30,000 points is no joke to you.

Following rumors of a new GeForce RTX 2060 and mobile versions of Nvidia GeForce RTX 20-series graphics cards, we are hearing about the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050.

A new graphics card with 896 CUDA cores and 4 GB of video memory with a maximum clock speed of 1560 MHz has appeared in the GeekBench database, as reported by the well-known data provider TUM_APISAK. The popular GPU in recent rumors has been identified by the benchmark as a “graphics device” developed by Nvidia, but it is safe to assume that the graphics card is built on the Turing architecture and will likely replace the current GTX 1050 (Ti) as the video memory is only 4 GB.

It looks like the mysterious graphics card scored 114,206 points in OpenCL, which is noticeably higher than the results of the existing GeForce GTX 1050 Ti – about 84,000 points.

The same message from TUM_APISAK contains entries from GeekBench that indicate the existence of the upcoming GeForce RTX 2060. Moreover, the documentation also confirms the presence of 1920 CUDA cores in the GPU, 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory at a maximum clock speed of 1200 MHz.

According to the test page, the GeForce RTX 2060 scored 211,876 points in OpenCL, which allows it to outperform the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, which only squeezed out 175,000 points.

| NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 11 SERIES?

This is all in line with what we’ve come to expect from Nvidia’s new line of RTX graphics cards – a massive bump in specs and ratings – but recent rumor factory reports point to a separate Nvidia GTX 11 series.

Several sites (including Wccftech and Vudeocardz) have reported that the 11-series GTX will be a sequel to Turing, but will refrain from ray tracing. This could lead to a second line of more affordable graphics cards starting with GeForce GTX 1160 and 1150.

Before we attach importance to these reports, we would like to remind you that the current line of graphics cards was rumored to be from the GTX 11 series, before Nvidia outplayed everything and introduced graphics cards as the RTX 20 series. So we see no reason for a manufacturer to restore the classic series of graphics cards unless Nvidia feels threatened by AMD’s upcoming 7nm Vega II series graphics cards.
