NVIDIA is working on a new Shield Tablet

Gamers rejoice! NVIDIA may offer a new Shield Tablet very soon.

NVIDIA’s upcoming tablet has been spotted in recently released FCC filings that show it measures 8.6 x 4.8 x 0.3 inches (218.4 x 121.9 x 7.6 mm) and weighs 12.3 ounces ( 348 g). This data is almost identical to the current NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1, so an easy update could be in store for us.

Additional information in the FCC filings indicates that the tablet will support 802.11ac Wi-Fi, along with Bluetooth low energy, and will also receive a MicroUSB port. While the K1 offers MicroUSB, this is the older USB 2.0. Perhaps the new tablet will come with USB 3.0 for faster data transfer speeds.

The Shield Tablet line is a robust horse with game-focused features, including the Nvidia GeForce NOW streaming service. The tablets integrate with the company’s own wireless gamepad to play games on the go, and the Mini HDMI port means you can connect your tablet to your TV for 4K gaming.

Currently, getting the NVIDIA Shield Tablet K1 is not so easy, so the presence of a new tablet (at first glance) pleases game fans.
