Nvidia Shield Tablet and Shield Tablet K1 receive updates

NVIDIA tablets are getting the firmware update to version 4.0.1 (Shield Tablet) and 1.1.1 (Shield Tablet K1).

NVIDIA is making available a new software update for the Shield Tablet and Shield Tablet K1, which come in versions 4.0.1 and 1.1.1, respectively. Shield Tablet Wi-Fi and LTE models have been confirmed and will be compatible with the update.

The Shield K1 promises to get better Wi-Fi connectivity, lower power consumption for legacy apps, and touch field support for Shield controllers that weren’t available before. There is also support for Stylus Lasso Capture. Firmware 1.1.1 fixes the application optimization features, helps get rid of Gamepad Mapper bugs, improves performance, power consumption and promises new tablet display settings.

Even the bug that Doom 3 suffered from is not currently present. The NVIDIA team has also optimized pre-installed apps, added enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity, improved standby power consumption, and Bluetooth with low power scan mode. Firmware for NVIDIA Shield Tablet and Tablet K1 is now available. Be sure to follow the instructions and remember to back up your data first.
