Nvidia releases Geforce 314.07 WHQL – promises higher performance in Crysis 3

Nvidia’s big week begins with a new driver for the graphics cards in the Geforce series, and this time it’s not a beta but a full-featured edition with Microsoft’s WHQL stamp. The software is primarily intended for Crysis 3, but also includes all performance optimizations from previous beta versions in the 313 series.

This is the GeForce Game Ready driver for the Crysis 3. It delivers a smoother gaming experience, improves single GPU performance by up to 5%, and boosts SLI performance by up to 65% (compared to GeForce 310.90 WHQL driver).

According to Nvidia, anyone planning to play Crysis 3 can look forward to smoother frame rates and up to five percent better performance with a single graphics processor, or up to 65 percent with SLI configuration. This compares with Geforce Drivers 310.90 WHQL.

At the same time, a number of performance optimizations from the 313 series are added, including for games such as Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, Black Ops II, Assassins Creed III and Shogun Total War. As usual, new profiles for SLI and 3D Vision will also be added.

Crysis 3 will be released for PC / Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 19, but only in the US. However, Swedes and other Europeans will have to wait until February 21 before the game is available on store shelves. Geforce Drivers 314.07 WHQL is available for download from the Nvidia website.
