Nvidia Shield Tablet and Tablet K1 update

Tablets Nvidia Shield Tablet и Tablet K1 are receiving a software update that includes Vulkan 1.0.1.0 and security fixes.

The Nvidia Shield Tablet and Shield Tablet K1 were updated with new software this week, directly from Nvidia, along with Vulkan 1.0.1.0, among others. The update for the original Shield Talbet is marked as “Update 4.4”, while the Tablet K1 update comes as Update 1.5.

The changelog for the two tablets mentions software that fixes a looping loading issue that users encountered when the capacity of the SD card was approaching full load. Nvidia has also addressed the Android Privilege Escalation Exploit issue, making the usual stability and security fixes for its tablets. Nvidia’s Shield tablets are some of the most frequently updated tablets on the market.

While some users may be happy with this regular and extensive support, it can be a source of paranoia for others who see it as a sign of a large number of Nvidia tablets malfunctioning. Well, at least it’s not Microsoft with Surface tablets that never got an update after the actual issues were identified.
