NVIDIA studies a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti more powerful than an RTX 3080?
According to what was reported by the leakerQbitLeaksthe new generation of mid-range video cards from NVIDIA it would be much more efficient than the current one. However, while performance will increase on the one hand, it also seems that the energy demand will go hand in hand, according to the data shared on the alleged GeForceRTX 4060 and 4060 Ti.
In particular, it seems that the new VGAs have already been tested on 3DMark Time Extreme with results that are nothing short of interesting. The “enhanced” variant (that Ti) of the card would be able to achieve a result of 8,600 points undermining the current reference for the high-end of the market, namely the RTX 3080.
Well it seems 4060 and 4060 Ti have been tested
4060 Ti: TSE ~8600, avg clock 26XX, power draw ~270-280W.
4060: TSE ~6000, avg clock 27XX, power draw ~230-240W.

However, the consumption achieved would be included between 270 and 280 W, quite high for this range. The RTX 4060, on the other hand, would stop at a score of 6.000with a consumption between230 to 240 W. If the data were to prove correct, the rumors circulated some time ago would be confirmed, according to which the new mid-range video cards would have a TDP higher than 220W.
The leaker also mentions the alleged operating frequencies: the RTX 4060 Ti would reach i 2.600 MHz while the smooth RTX 4060 would even go as far as 2.700 MHz. However, according to the latest rumors, the cards would be based on different GPUs.
The 4060 Ti should be equipped with a chip AD104 with 6144 active CUDA cores and 10 GB of GDDR6 memory at 17.5 Gbps. For the RTX 4060, however, the chosen chip would be a AD106-300 with 3968 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 17 Gbps on a 128-bit bus.
The above video cards may be announced atJanuary next yearalthough difficulties in procurement and production could lead to changes in the roadmap.
