Nvidia Titan V in performance tests – sweeps the carpet with Geforce GTX 1080 Ti

Nvidia launched the first Titan in 2013, which was then the first out with the GK110 graphics circuit. Since then, the trend has continued, with the series offering juicy price tags and priority to Nvidia’s larger circles. In connection with the launch of Nvidia Titan V, the company also goes back to the series’ roots as slimmed-down computing cards.

Despite the rediscovered focus, the Titan V with its 5,120 CUDA cores is expected to perform well in games as well. Suspicions that are now strengthened thanks to performance figures in Gears of War 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider, among others, as well as synthetic performance tests where the card can stretch properly on the legs.

First out is Fire Strike, where the Titan V has 32,774 points in the graphics test, compared to, for example, Nvidia Titan Xp and Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, which perform around 28,000 points.

The graphics card is also tested in an overclocked version, where the frequency is increased to 170 MHz from the basic model’s turbo frequency of 1,455 MHz. This results in 35,991 graphics points. In the Unigine Superposition, the result lands at 9,431 points, well above the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti which usually lands at around 5,500 points.

In the game tests, the Titan V continues to show strong performance figures. In Gears of War 4, the card delivers an average of 157.5 frames per second (FPS), while the latest Tomb Raider ends up at around 65 FPS. In comparison, the GTX 1080 Ti provides an average frequency of 115 FPS in Gears of War 4.

Nvidia Titan V can be ordered today on the company’s own website for SEK 31,500, where the delivery date is set for 12 December.
