Nvidia unveils upgraded Geforce GTX 1050 with 3 GB of graphics memory

With over two years on its neck, Nvidia with the Geforce GTX 1000 series has created a real long-distance driver. This summer, however, the successor is expected to enter the stage, probably in the form of the architecture Turing. Until then, it is still Pascal that applies, where the manufacturer still makes good money on the current generation.

Therefore, the company continues to unveil more cards based on Pascal, the latest of which can be found on the company’s product page for the Geforce GTX 1050. This concerns a new variant of the card, with some changes under the hood.

Compared to the regular GTX 1050, the amount of memory increases by 50 percent to 3 GB, while the clock frequencies increase from 1,354 MHz base and 1,455 MHz turbo frequencies to 1,392 MHz and 1,518 MHz, respectively. The memory circuit speed, on the other hand, stays at 7 Gbps, which together with a reduced memory bus from 128 to 96 bits means that the bandwidth goes from 112 GB / s to 84 GB / s.

It is worth noting that the new Geforce GTX 1050 (3 GB) gets 768 CUDA cores just like its big brother GTX 1050 Ti, compared to 640 cores for the regular Geforce GTX 1050 (2 GB). When and if the card will be found in Swedish stores is still unknown, which also applies to pricing.
