The development of OpenZeppelin was conducted in conjunction with the technology corporation Microsoft. The project is a VSCode plug-in designed specifically for the Azure blockchain.

Smart contract developers who will use VSCode from Microsoft will be able to safely add contracts to their code base from the OpenZeppelin contract library, which currently has over a million downloads and 200 code developers.
“Through collaboration with Microsoft, more than 2.7 million active users will be able to use our library of contracts. This will significantly increase the security of projects based on Solidity smart contracts, the announcement said. “Projects who want to take advantage of the OpenZeppelin security audit service can use the Microsoft Azure VSCode plug-in, which will allow them to create safe and easy-to-audit code using import with write protection and integrity checking.”
What features are currently available?
- Downloading contracts and libraries based on categories.
- Create migration files for each imported contract.
- Checking for compliance with the hash of the original GitHub repository when importing and deploying OpenZeppelin contracts.
- It is also worth noting the import of read-only contracts, which prevents accidental changes that could compromise the security of the code being scanned.
“This cooperation will help significantly strengthen the security of the blockchain industry. Developers who want to interact with distributed registry technology now have the opportunity to get free access to the library of smart contracts directly from VSCode, ”the publication also says.
Note that Microsoft is directly or indirectly involved in many blockchain initiatives.
