The Android version of Opera now offers support for the cryptocurrency’s bitcoin and tron. Opera is one of the five most popular web browsers.
200 million users
Opera says they support bitcoin and tron in their mobile browsers to increase the accessibility of cryptos. They have a point there. At present, Opera has almost 200 million mobile users, and they now all have fairly subtle access to bitcoin.
According to data from StatCounter from September 2019, Opera has a market share of around 2.5% among all internet browsers.
Browsers are ideal
“The browser is the ideal candidate for integrating cryptocurrency because it is the gateway to so many things in the user’s life,” said Charles Hamel, the head of the cryptocurrency department at Opera.
With the new update, Opera users can send and receive bitcoin and tron, without having to install a wallet and go through the registration process.
From now on, @opera users will be able to freely exchange #TRX tokens within the browser within the comfort of their browser. On top of that, they will also be able to explore a plethora of #TRON #DApps. https://t.co/2RNNP2K459

Opera one of the most important software companies
And that is to the delight of Justin Sun, the founder of Tron. He is pleased that users have direct access to the Tron Dapp ecosystem:
“We are proud to connect the largest, active blockchain ecosystem with the best web browser ever built,” Sun said in a recent press release.
He continues:
“Opera is one of the most important software companies in the world. They ensure that one hundred million users get more security, privacy and knowledge of cryptocurrency. ”
In December 2018, Opera was the first large internet browser with a built-in Ethereum wallet. This allows users to easily send, receive and store Ethereum (ETH) and ERC-721 crypto collectibles.
But will it catch on?
Whether wallets that are embedded in browsers really catch on is questionable. Few figures are known of this. In addition, Opera has a lot of competition, think of the thousands of mobile wallets such as BRD and Atomic Wallet. Or trading apps such as the Dutch BLOX, with which you can also save coins. In addition, you increasingly see that smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung offer standard support for cryptocurrencys.
