Optimism, a new startup created by former researchers of the foundation Plasma Group, collected $ 3.5 million to speed up the implementation of its scalability solution for Ethereum.
Founded last December, Optimism focuses on bringing O into productionptimistic Rollup, a Layer2 scalability solution for Ethereum designed by the nonprofit organization Plasma Group.
On her blog, the young shoot has just announced that she had received the support of venture capital companies Paradigm and WD CoLab Ventures.
“To sow this ecosystem and the software it needs, we raised $ 3.5 million from Paradigm and IDEO CoLab Ventures. We are extremely fortunate to have found investors who understand the need for such infrastructure, "she said.
This autumn, Plasma Group presented its scaling solution for smart contracts and transactions on Ethereum. appointed Optimistic Rollup, it would provide a transaction flow 10 times faster on the ETH blockchain.
Although now operating a for-profit company – Plasma Group is closing its doors, the research team will continue to participate in open source projects, says TheBlock.
"The transition from a non-profit organization to a for-profit enterprise is partly due to the difficulty in fundraising that we have experienced in the past year," said Optimism director Jinglan Wang.
