MOSCOW, 29 Aug – PRIME. Russia is interested in the visit of the IAEA delegation to the Zaporozhye NPP, was waiting for it and is open to cooperation and interaction, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“Russia is interested in this mission of the IAEA delegation and took part in its preparation, it is open to cooperation and interaction,” the press secretary of the Russian leader said.
Peskov also stressed that Russia will ensure the security of the mission “in the part that concerns the territory under its control” and “taking into account the risks that constantly prevail and are associated with incessant shelling from the Ukrainian side of this territory. He noted that on the territory controlled by Kyiv territories, security will be provided by the Ukrainian side.
The Kremlin spokesman added that all countries should put pressure on Ukraine so that it does not shell the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and does not threaten the security of all of Europe. This, according to Russia, will help reduce tensions.
Peskov also pointed out that there is no talk of creating a demilitarized zone around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
