Picture of flagship in the RTX 3000 series leaks

It is already clear that the unveiling of Nvidia’s upcoming series of graphics cards in what is supposed to be the Geforce RTX 3000 series will take place in some form on 1 September. The sharp launch also looks to include a schedule where the top card will be first out, step by step followed by cheaper models during autumn and winter. Now the first pictures representing a top model from a partner manufacturer appear.

According to Videocardz, the card is rumored to be a Colorful Vulcan of the absolute top model under the Geforce umbrella, RTX 3090. Despite persistent censorship of the image in question, some interesting details can be discerned, such as the packaging of memory circuits around the graphics processor. The picture certainly shows the back of the printed circuit board, but the fact that it is also equipped with eleven memory circuits suggests that the rumors of over 20 GB of memory may very well be true.

The memory circuits themselves have Micron as the sender, unfortunately the model number is not visible, so the type GDDR6X can not yet be confirmed to 100 percent. According to the leak, the card is also adorned with a secret circuit mounted on the opposite side of the graphics processor – where an Intel processor is placed to cover for said circuit. Whether it is an auxiliary processor for the graphics card or a special solution from partner manufacturers is unclear.

Elsewhere, there are also changes in the Nvlink connection, which appears to have a different configuration than that of the Turing-based RTX 2000 series. The graphics card’s power supply, on the other hand, also looks to be biting, with three 8-pin PCI Express connectors, which paves the way for overclocking bravado for the card, which in reference is rumored to have a Total Graphics Power, or approximate power consumption of 350 watts.

Further information on Nvidia’s upcoming Geforce series is expected during a launch event on September 1.
