It seems that the developers do not want to meet the demands of PlayStation, and it must be remembered that with the arrival of the new tier of subscription to its services, in the highest of them, known as PlayStation Plus Premiumthe company would be forcing all the studios that sell their game from 34 dollars to include a limited trial versionwith at least 2 hours of gameplay.

Now new reports reveal that the developers do not want to spend time on the matterand that it will be the PlayStation Store team itself that has to create these demos of the entire catalog of games available.

Essentially, this would be because PlayStation will be monetizing these demosbecause they are an extra that is added in the highest tier of subscriptions, but of course, the studios will not see a single euro cent for creating these demos. In this way, like Pontius Pilate, the developers of the games have washed their hands, since they see no interest in doing a job from which only PlayStation will benefitso one of the main hypotheses that we discussed the other day is fulfilled:

“If your game is above the $34 price tag, you’re probably working with fewer resources than your competitors, and two hours can be a significant chunk of your game content. Smart developers can turn those test builds into opportunities to capture new players, but if you don’t promise a payout at the end, you risk a lot of work for a limited reward.
