3. Results of performance tests and analysis
In the diagrams, the results of testing video cards on NVIDIA GPUs are highlighted in green, and on AMD GPUs they are reflected in the usual red color scheme of this manufacturer. 3DMark
In almost all 3DMark test scenes, the performance of video cards confirms their cost, clearly positioning the products from top to bottom. Only in the Time Spy test is the density of results higher. The AMD Radeon RX 480 is in the ASUS GeForce GTX 970 level, slightly behind its direct competitor NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and significantly ahead of the ASUS STRIX R9 380X Gaming. The performance of the Sapphire NITRO R9 390 OC Tri-X is clearly beyond the reach of the heroine of today’s article even when overclocked.
Crysis 3
Crysis 3 showed us a different image.
Here the AMD Radeon RX 480 isn’t so self-confident anymore, getting the ASUS GeForce GTX 970 from the previous NVIDIA lineup. But in non-Anti-aliasing modes, the AMD Radeon RX 480 is quite confidently ahead of the ASUS STRIX R9 380X Gaming, and when AA is activated, the frame rate is very low, and it makes no difference to choose which of these two video cards is.
Far primitive
Far Cry Primal puts video cards very clearly in terms of performance, based on their cost, especially in the most resource-intensive quality mode.
The AMD Radeon RX 480 is 14-23% faster than the gaming ASUS STRIX R9380X in this game, and 8-11% slower than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.
