Powercolor launches Radeon HD 6850 with passive cooling

The model is called SCS3 (Silent Cooling System) HD6850, and the parade number is passive cooling. The model has an aluminum radiator with 62 flanges and five heat pipes to keep the temperatures in check.

Under the shell, the graphics processor Barts LE houses 960 stream processors and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 256-bit memory bus. The clock frequencies follow the reference levels, which means 775 MHz GPU and 4,000 MHz for the graphics memory. Other features are solid capacitors and coils as well as support for technologies such as Crossfire, Eyefinity and DirectX 11. Connection to monitor is done DVI, HDMI or Displayport.

The package also includes a download code for the upcoming rally game Dirt 3. The Powercolor SCS3 HD6850 will reach stores soon with a price tag of approximately SEK 1,800 including VAT.
