MOSCOW, 6 Oct — PRIME. Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins said he does not expect any specific decisions from the informal EU summit in Prague on Thursday, but hopes for a complete ban on Russian gas imports to Europe.
Latvia is lagging behind the plan to fill gas storage facilities
“I do not expect that we will come to any specific decision this afternoon or evening, but I believe that we all need to work together,” he said.
According to the prime minister, the EU states will not be able to overcome the current crises alone, so joint work of all countries is necessary.
Speaking about a possible embargo on Russian gas, Karins expressed a “positive” attitude. In his opinion, the EU “will eventually achieve this.”
