“I ask the government to extend the social gasification program beyond the horizon of 2022,” he said as part of the Russian Energy Week.

The head of state also asked the Cabinet of Ministers to control the provision of financial support to citizens during gasification in the regions and assess the need for additional measures.

The regional authorities were instructed to provide subsidies for the purchase of gas equipment and carrying out relevant work inside the sites for citizens in need. The size of the subsidy should be at least 100,000 rubles per connection, Putin stressed.

The President urged to pay special attention to improving the reliability of the power grid complex. “For the regions where the situation is the most difficult this year, special programs have been developed, I ask the government to start implementing them as soon as possible,” he said.

The Russian leader stressed that the domestic fuel and energy complex should work for the national economy, to increase its competitiveness and improve the quality of life of Russian citizens, these are its key tasks.
