VLADIVOSTOK, 7 Sep — PRIME. The West is now in no position to dictate terms to Russia, it should change its mind, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum, commenting on Western ideas to limit prices for Russian energy resources.
Russia has no problems selling energy resources, Putin said
“We will fully fulfill our contractual obligations, but if someone tries to impose something on us, I want to note that those who impose something on us are not in the position today to dictate their will to us. Let them come to their senses,” – he said.
Putin stressed that Russia will not supply anything outside the scope of contracts and will not do anything imposed.
“We will only have one thing left – as in a well-known Russian fairy tale, to say:” Freeze, freeze the wolf’s tail, “he concluded.
Europe has reached a sanctions impasse, Putin stated
The G7 finance ministers confirmed on September 2 their intention to impose price caps on Russian oil as part of expanding their range of sanctions. Russian representatives warned in response that countries that would apply the limits would be left without oil exports from Russia. In addition, the European Commission plans to discuss on Friday the price limit for gas imported from Russia.
