Raptor Lake would bring improvements of up to 15% in single-core and up to 40% in multi-core compared to Alder Lake

After a long wait, AMD will launch its first Zen 4 processors in the second half of the year, and according to new rumors, Intel does not plan to sit idly by: Raptor Lake would have improvements of up to 15% in single-core and up to 40% in multi-core against Alder Lake, being a strong competition for the new AMD.

The information comes from Moore’s Law Is Dead, who reports that Raptor Lake will improve between 8% and 15% in single-core thanks to architectural improvements, and between 30% and 40% in multi-core thanks to the combination of these architectural improvements and the addition of extra cores, which is a great generational increase. It is also reported that it will arrive in the third quarter of the year, so it will not take much longer than Zen 4 to reach the market.

Let’s remember that a few days ago Intel confirmed that Raptor Lake will have up to 24 cores and 32 threads compared to 16 cores and 24 threads in Alder Lake, so these figures make a lot of sense when taking into account the improvements per core that you mentioned in the passed Intel, and the addition of up to 8 additional high-efficiency cores. Zen 4 will maintain the same number of cores, although it will significantly improve the architecture and will have a higher TDP to allow frequencies above 5GHz, so without a doubt the fight between the two companies in the second half of the year will be more than interesting. As always, stay tuned to HD Technology to keep up with the latest news, and find out who will take the crown in the second half of the year.

What do you think about this big performance boost that Raptor Lake could bring? Is that the perfect time to upgrade?
