Ray tracing in Control will only be active on consoles at 30 fps and 1220p

Remedy has updated special section Check out the Control website for details on the game’s update for next-gen consoles. As a reminder, only those who bought the Ultimate edition will receive this update for free. As is often the case, the game will have two modes: “Performance” and “Quality”. And now let’s move on to the description of the modes themselves:

  • performance mode for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. 1440p and 60 fps with upscale up to 4K;
  • graphics mode for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. 1220p and 30 fps with ray tracing and upscale up to 4K;
  • performance mode for Xbox Series S. 900p with 60 fps and no ray tracing.

For the owners of the PlayStation 5 console, the developers have prepared something special. Full support for the DualSense controller is declared with the use of the features of the adaptive triggers. Guided Activities are also enabled.

Unfortunately, when switching to nextgen, it will not be possible to transfer old saves – Remedy explains this by the fact that a different version of the engine is used on new consoles.

Recall that Control: Ultimate Edition will be available in the February PS Plus compilation, the maximum version of the game will be released on February 2 simultaneously on all nextgen platforms.
