MOSCOW, Sep 1 — PRIME. Russia expects objectivity from the IAEA specialists at the Zaporozhye NPP, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a speech to MGIMO students.
“We expect objectivity. Although all the others who are involved in this visit in one way or another, with its preparation and attempts to make it difficult, they clearly do not want the IAEA mission to draw objective conclusions,” the Foreign Minister noted.
Lavrov stressed that the Russian side is taking all possible measures to ensure the safety of the mission.
“They say they don’t have the mandate to identify those responsible, but of course they will be shown all the traces that were left as a result of Ukrainian shelling. At our insistence, there should be ballistics experts in the mission. So, hopefully, we will find out something Or rather, we know everything, I hope the world community will also have such an opportunity,” the minister added.
In addition, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed the hope that Ukraine’s provocations at the ZNPP would not lead to disaster.
