Ryzen 7 3700U on the first leaks

Surprisingly, the first leaks about the third generation of Ryzen processors concern not a “full-fledged” system, but only a Picasso series APU with a reduced TDP. Please welcome the AMD Ryzen 7 3700U in pre-release rumors.

We do not know, however, whether the Ryzen 7 3700U is based on a Zen + combination with a 14 nm technological process or AMD, and here it has opted for its latest combination, i.e. the new Zen 2 architecture and the 7 nm technological process. In theory, Picasso was supposed to have at least a new architecture, but the Ryzen 7 3700U spec is identical to the current Ryzen 7 2700U. I am talking about literally everything – from the number of physical cores, to clock speeds and the graphics system (RX Vega 10), and ending with the TDP values. This is even indicated by something as prosaic as the code name – ZM370SC4T4MFG_38 / 22_Y, which contains practically all the most important details.

So there are two options at stake – either this leak is one big lie, or AMD chose the same specification, but with a drastically reduced power consumption. So I don’t know what to think about it anymore, because in this case common sense is at odds with the reputation that the source has built for itself. This, however, cannot be wrong, so as always in such matters… time will tell.
