Sapphire is preparing the golden Radeon RX 590 for AMD’s 50th anniversary celebration

The year was 2006 when AMD acquired the graphics manufacturer ATI, which was founded in 1985. AMD, for its part, has been active for much longer than that, ever since 1969 when the company was founded in sunny California. Initially, the company manufactured simpler circuits and memories, and later became one of the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturers.

The company will soon be 50 years old, and before this, AMD-exclusive Sapphire seems to be preparing a special variant of the company’s Radeon RX 590 Nitro +. Eteknix found the information via a Portuguese dealer, where Sapphire’s golden card was exposed. Shortly afterwards, the product page was removed.

In terms of performance, the card is identical to its regular blue and black siblings, with a turbo frequency of 1,560 MHz, while the radiator with four heat conduction tubes and two 95 mm fans is the same. The only difference is thus the golden color of the cover, as well as a 25 euro higher price.

AMD has its 50th anniversary on May 1, 2019, which means that the card will probably reappear on store pages in connection with this. The price was stated at 299 euros on the product side, which corresponds to about 3,100 kronor.
