Simplenote, better and easier than Evernote to take notes on Android!
– Take a look at these tips, tricks, and solution you can use to make your life much easier with your devices whenever problems arrive and complications which you may find difficult to deal with.
Simplenote is a software multi platform from Open Source maintained by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. The first time I checked your app for Android It was back in September 2013 and I already considered it a good and simple alternative to take notes. Its essence has not changed since then. Although it has added several useful functions, it is still a simple note app.
You just have to see the images below to see what I’m talking about. For example, we are going to compare it with Evernote, one of the best or most complete apps that exist to take notes. Simplenote is better than Evernote in order to concentrate when writing, because it offers a screen free from distractions.
Another thing I really like about Simplenote is that it is more quick. It’s no wonder that Simplenote’s size is almost seven times smaller than Evernote.
Simplenote’s “Publish” option upload the note to the Internet and you can share the link with other people to view the note from any device with a web browser. Not to be confused with the “Copy internal link” option, which allows you to link other notes.
When you use the “Share” option of the note, you will see a menu like the one above, with some particular Simplenote options, such as publish the note as an entry in your WordPress.com, previously connecting the app with your account of this service. Unfortunately you cannot post to WordPress.org based blogs.
The other options allow you to publish an Internet note (or “unpublish” it by removing its public link, if it is already published). “Collaborate” serves so that other people view and edit a note at the same time. To do this, you must add the email of the person or persons in the “labels” field of the note.
Simplenote is available for Windows, Linux, Mac y iPhone besides Android and yes you can sync your notes between all these devices. The syncing is free with an unlimited number of devices, which is not the case with Evernote, which only allows you to synchronize up to two computers in its free version. And you can also access your notes from a browser, via the simplenote.com website.
Unfortunately, importing Evernote notes into Simplenote sometimes doesn’t work and an error can be thrown during import. In that case I recommend importing the notes on a clean account or without Simplenote notes and importing the Evernote notes in parts if there are many.
Simplenote is a simple application for taking notes and accessing them from multiple devices. Cleaner or more uncomplicated than Evernote and totally free, something that cannot be said about the latter. You only need an email and password and you will be inside, without further additional information or email confirmation.
Its disadvantage is the problems that I have seen when importing notes from Evernote, as well as the security of your notes, which apparently are only encrypted when they travel the internet. If you have sensitive data in your Simplenote notes, your alternative may be StandardNotes or Evernote itself, which is certainly much more than just a note-taking app.
