The meeting that took place on October 31, 2019, had as topics of discussion the decentralized applications and their usefulness. It has been 10 years since the technology was invented and every year it is used more and more.
Among the main properties it has are:
- Open source – it is governed autonomously and the code changes are made by consensus of the network participants;
- Decentralization – all operations that a dApps performs on a public or private blockchain;
- Rationale – If the application uses its own blockchain, validators must be rewarded with a token for the work submitted.
This being known, it is fair to say that Bitcoin was the first dApps, a solution implemented in blockchain that eliminates centralization and censorship.

The Ethereum platform allows developers to create dApps, but it is not the only one. Hyperledger, Telos, EOS, BitShares are some of the platforms on which decentralized applications can be built.
