Take a look at the miniature PC from MSI. What does Trident S allow for players?

The Wccftech service had the opportunity to take a closer look at the miniature PC Trident S from MSI, which was announced at CES 2021 and which will probably be premiered at CES 2022. Then we will probably know the prices and availability, but we already know what exactly is sitting under its small housing SFF.

First look at MSI Trident S, a miniature PC

The miniature MSI Trident S computer resembles a console in size, reduced to a black and silver metal casing in the form of a cuboid, in which the power supply and the motherboard are isolated from each other. In addition to the AM4 socket, which will include the 8-core Ryzen 7 5700G, it will offer two DDR4 memory slots in DIMM format. Of course, do not count on a dedicated graphics card, because the cooling system with a fan, aluminum heat sink and 3 huge heat pipes can only handle heat dissipation from 65-watt subsystems.

The iGPU in Ryzen 7 5700G, or Vega 8, will be responsible for the graphics. You can play many titles in lower quality on it, but MSI did not design Trident S. this in the cloud thanks to Google Stadia, GeForce Now or Cloud Gaming. This explains the 4K and 120 Hz support, because even with the help of AMD FSR technology, you can’t count on such quality from Trident S even in esports games.

On the port side, the Trident S has HDMI, Display Port, VGA, two USB-A, Ethernet port and 19-V power connector on the back, and USB-C 3.2, USB-A 3.2 and two 3.5 mm jack ports on the front.
