Test – Antec Cube Special Edition
| Specs | Price
Hi everyone!
Back at Antec today with their brand new case, the Cube Special Edition! The brand has decided to put the small dishes in the big ones here with a case in the mini-ITX format but with aluminum and windows do you want some here. In addition to the “classic” Cube version, the Special Edition has been specially dressed in partnership with Razer, of course with green LED to be seen 😉
Offered at a price of around 280 € it is clear that the box from Antec is not cheap, there will have to be a lot of good surprises to justify that, which we will see in this test!

When we look at the dimensions and the weight of the beast, namely 40 cm in length and 36.5 cm in height, 25 cm in width and 6.42 Kg we could say that the Cube Special Edition is not really a mini box. -ITX like the others. Indeed apart from the height it looks a lot like what you can find in ATX, so it will clearly not be a small box.
In terms of the number of bays here, it will not really be necessary to make a storage server, we are entitled to 2 2.5 ″ slots for SSDs as well as a 3.5 ″ slot (which can be converted to 2 x 2.5 ″), however, this will be sufficient for almost all market users.
Regarding ventilation, we are entitled to 1 x 18 or 1 x 14 or 2 x 12 cm at the front, compatible with radiators from 120 to 240 mm as well as a location of 12 cm at the rear, also compatible with a 120mm radiator. Even if we do not arrive here at what an ATX box can offer (which is normal) the ventilation should still be good. On the other hand and unfortunately the brand has not seen fit here to provide only one original 12 cm fan, which is a bit of a shame, especially seeing the price of the beast, 280 € without going through the box departure!
On the front of the box is a photo of the front of the beast, showing the Razer logo, which is also present in the corner, to be sure! In addition to that of course the logo of the brand as well as the model are present, which is still the minimum!
At the back, the marketing went off well, saying that the Cube is made for battle, styled for enthusiasts (yes yes) and designed for performance. A listing of the technical characteristics is however present, a good thing!
In the box, the box is in a bag all sandwiched between 2 foam sheets, so transport should not be a problem.
The bundle is rather limited, in fact in addition to the small product presentation leaflet and the necessary screws Antec provides cable ties, 2 4-pin extension cords as well as 2 Razer stickers. There is of course enough to mount the configuration but no more!
