We are continuing the tests of products from be quiet !, it’s a bit of an avalanche at the moment at Conseil Config 😀 Today I’m going to present you a big baby, the Dark Base Pro 900! Under this name hides the biggest case of the brand, after the success of the Silent Base 800 (tested here) the brand decided to go further upmarket, the Dark Base Pro 900 was born! On the program, E-ATX compatibility, Silent Wings 3 fans (the most upscale of the brand), aluminum and dimensions that leave fans of large configurations dreaming.
Who says high-end case also says high price, this is confirmed here with a price oscillating around 240 €, which clearly does not reserve it for everyone. Let’s see what the beast has in store for us and if the price is justified!

So there you might as well say that be quiet! did not do in half measure, whether in terms of dimensions with 57.7 cm in length by 58.5 cm in height and 24.3 cm in width or even its weight of 14.4 kg. The brand mixed steel, plastic as well as aluminum and tempered glass for the side window.
Regarding the compatibility of the components there again no compromise, 18.5 cm for the processor cooler, so all the coolers on the market will be compatible, the graphics card can be up to 32.3 cm in length with the cage of the hard drives installed against 47.2 cm without. The power supply is not left behind, a minimum of 15 cm when 2 fans at the bottom are installed for 28.4 cm maximum, which means that there will be no problem there either.

Likewise, the possibility of installing watercooling radiators is present, from 12 to 42 cm at the front, 12 to 42 cm above, 12 to 28 cm at the bottom and 12 to 14 cm at the rear.
The front connector is also well supplied, 2 x USB 3.0, 2 x USB 2.0 as well as the eternal 3.5 mm microphone and headphones. be quiet! went further than most manufacturers by adding a Qi charger to charge your mobile phone, it can be useful!
Where the brand tries to stand out and to justify the price it has shielded its Dark Base Pro 900 with features, in addition to dust filters, foams everywhere, individual hard drive cages which are now commonplace be quiet! added great modularity. Indeed the disc cages are removable, the 5.25 ″ similarly but especially the support of the motherboard, which could be really very interesting for an easy assembly /
Offered at a price of around 240 € the Dark Base Pro 900 from be quiet! clearly comes with arguments, whether in terms of its dimensions, component compatibility but also its functionality, let’s see it all more closely!

The huge box is the image of what is usually done at the brand, sober! We find on the front a photo of the beast in profile, the name of the model, the color and of course the logo of the brand. At the back a list of the strong points, namely the Silent Wings 3 fans, the removable motherboard plate, tempered glass window etc.

Bundle Dark Base Pro 900 is rather complete, in addition to the eternal user manual the brand has attached 6 Velcro cable ties, a fan adapter that will be installed in place of the 5.25 ″ covers (if necessary), an adapter to fix a pump, a rubber grommet for the hard disks, 3 spacers for the installation of an E-ATX motherboard as well as of course the necessary screws. In addition to that 2 LED strips are present, they will connect to the PWM rheobus behind the motherboard.
