Introduction
Hello everyone!
A few days ago, Nvidia finally offered us the entry-level model of their RTX range, the RTX 2060! After the bigger beasts, RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and the RTX 2080 Ti, it was time to satisfy gamers who have a smaller budget but still want to be able to play the latest games in good conditions, the xx60 series is made for them. The old GTX 1060 6 GB were a great success and were available at their release at a price of 319 € in Founders Edition version (for a readjustment to 289 € a year later), the RTX 2060 6 GB as for them undergo a increase of 50 € to peak at 369 € but have in return a more high-end cooling system as well as a game (Battlefield V or Anthem) offered.

The RTX 2060 Founders Edition is of course a card based on a Turing GPU, like its big sisters, but which has seen its technical characteristics reduced. When we have 88, 64 and 64 ROPs for the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 respectively, the RTX 2060 only has 48. The number of cores responsible for the Ray Tracing calculations is also revised downwards of course. , 30 for our RTX 2060 for 240 Tensor cores and 1920 CUDA cores. It is clear that at this level alone, we should not expect to have performance worthy of the biggest monster in the range, but that is not what we are asking of him anyway!
The GPU meanwhile sees its base frequency running at 1365 MHz, against 1680 in turbo boost mode, it is not really possible to draw conclusions at this level, given that even an RTX 2080 Ti does not exceed the 1635 MHz in boost mode. That said, it will be necessary to see in practice what this gives, an RTX 2080 FE for example which can reach more than 1950 MHz in game whereas it is given for 1800 MHz.
The memory for its part is also entrusted to GDDR6, at the same frequency of 1750 MHz as its big sisters but on a 192-bit bus, i.e. a maximum bandwidth of 336 GB / s against 448 GB / s. The GTX 1060’s TDP was very contained, posting a maximum of 120 Watts, here the voucher is clear going to 160 Watts, close to the RTX 2070 FE (185 Watts). This increase is certainly due to the large GPU of 10.8 billion transistors while a “simple” GTX 1060 displays only 4.4 billion. To power the beast, a single 8-pin connector is needed, no wonder.

The RTX 2060 FE is compact, it is exactly the same size as its big sister RTX 2070, namely 22.9 cm long by 11.3 cm high and 2 slots thick. It should in no case be a problem in the very large box on the market, even mini-ITX which accept a “standard” graphics card.
Nvidia has set its price at € 369, compared to € 629 for the RTX 2070 FE, € 849 for the RTX 2080 and € 1,259 for the larger RTX 2080 Ti. Even if it remains more affordable, we cannot ignore these rather important prices. Despite everything, the manufacturer intends the RTX 2060 for use on a Full HD screen (1920 x 1080) but also WQHD (2560 x 1440), we go up a notch compared to a GTX 1060 which is made for Full HD ( 1920 x 1080).
