Health!

Silverstone continues its momentum of mini-ITX boxes with today a new version of its already widely used chassis (the ML07, FTZ01 and RVZ01), the RVZ01-E! Under this name hides a true copy of the RVZ01 but with an update of the power supply compartment which previously only accepted SFX (and SFX-L in the “new” versions) to switch to an ATX format (but limited to 15 cm). The growing enthusiasm for mini-ITX configurations gives Silverstone a good reason to improve its chassis to adapt to individual needs, and the manufacturer does not deprive itself of it!
Offered at a recommended price of 79.70 € HT (or approximately 95.60 € TTC) it takes the price of the RVZ01 first of the name, let’s see if the switch to ATX power supply is interesting!

Like the RVZ01 the -E version is made of a plastic exterior and steel panels / carcass, like most cases on the market! The dimensions are very substantially identical to the ML07 and RVZ01, namely 38.2 cm wide by 35 cm deep and 10.5 cm high, which means that it will remain very discreet and blend into the environment much more easily than a tower Standard ATX, note that feet are available to put it either vertically or horizontally. Due to these limited dimensions, however, it will be necessary to pay for a cooler with a maximum height of 8.3 cm (like the Cryorig C1 for example, tested here), on the other hand the graphics card will have the field cleared with a maximum length 33 cm for 15 cm high, which means that even the biggest monsters sold on the market will be able to fit.
The number of installable peripherals changes somewhat with the disappearance of the 5.25 ″ “slim” slot as well as the 3.5 ″ slot for a hard drive, the 2.5 ″ slots however go from 3 to 4. With these changes it will therefore be necessary to make more attention to what is installed, as the installation of games / operating system will be done only through a USB device.
The big change as I said above comes from the compatible with an ATX power supply with a maximum length of 15 cm, this opens the field to a wider choice of models but it will be necessary to be particularly vigilant at certain points such as the length of the cables, the number of connectors, etc. A non-modular power supply for example may have too many cables and will prevent the case from being closed.
Offered at a recommended price of 95.60 € HT the Silverstone RVZ01-E should not disappoint as the chassis is known now, and compatibility with an ATX power supply will certainly be a godsend for some, let’s see what it is!

The box is in the spirit of all Raven products of the brand, a listing of the main strengths, characteristics etc.

The listing of technical characteristics is complete, dimensions, motherboard compatibility, internal locations, etc.

When opening we fall on the case wrapped in a fabric that will prevent scratches as much as possible, it is also sandwiched between 2 polystyrene molds, with the thickness of the cardboard as well as the protections used there should be no less worry during transport.

The bundle consists of:

  • 1 Silverstone RVZ01-E box (yes yes!)
  • 1 Manuel
  • 4 feet for vertical installation
  • 4 feet for horizontal installation
  • 3 magnetic dust filters
  • 1 adapter 2 x 4-pin -> 1 x 4-pin for fans
  • 1 PCie extension to connect the graphics card to the PCIe riser
  • The necessary screws
  • An interchangeable logo depending on the horizontal or vertical installation

As we can see the bundle is rather complete, it will be possible to install the box in 2 different positions and according to the chosen orientation the small Silverstone logo can be placed as we see fit!
