The AMD Radeon 400 series for laptops arrives in April

Just in time for the summer, AMD is expected to introduce the architecture Polaris, which in addition to a number of architectural changes takes the step to 14 nanometers. Together, these aspects will enable about doubled energy efficiency against today’s circuits, which in addition to higher performance in the top segment will come in handy in laptops.

In connection with this year’s edition of the Mobile World Congress, Lenovo presents the new Yoga 510 computers, which come with an unexpected surprise in the form of the hitherto unannounced Radeon 400 series for laptops. The graphics cards listed are judging by the names of entry-level models: Radeon R5 M430 and R7 M460.

New names notwithstanding, whether they are renamed or completely new graphics circuits with the architecture Polaris does not appear in the press release. However, the graphics blog Videocardz claims that the Radeon R5 M430 is “definitely” a renamed variant, while it is unclear whether this also applies to the Radeon R7 M460. It is worth mentioning that the R7 M460 is equipped with 2 GB of video memory of an unknown type.
