The cost of refueling electric vehicles in Britain rose in four months

MOSCOW, 26 Sep — PRIME. The cost of refueling electric vehicles in the UK has increased by 42% in four months, approaching the cost of refueling petrol or diesel. This was reported by the Sky News channel, citing the British Motorists Association RAC.

China to cut petrol and diesel retail prices

The average price for using public electric vehicle charging points has risen by 18.75p/kWh since May to 63.29p/kWh, according to the RAC. Thus, drivers of electric vehicles are forced to pay about 18 pence per mile (1.6 km), while drivers of cars with gasoline and diesel engines pay about 19 pence and 21 pence per mile, respectively, reports Sky News.

“Charging at public points is still cheaper than filling up a car with a gasoline or diesel engine. However, these figures show that the cost difference is narrowing due to the huge increase in electricity prices,” said RAC spokesman Simon Williams.
