The European Commission announced a decrease in the share of Russian gas in EU imports

MOSCOW, 5 Oct – PRIME. The share of Russian gas in total European imports has fallen to 7.5 percent, said the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen.

Gazprom resumed gas supplies via Austria
According to her, before the start of the special operation, the share of the Russian Federation was 41 percent.
“Now this figure is 7.5%,” – said the head of the EC at the plenary session of the European Parliament.
At the same time, the official advocated joint purchases of gas by the countries of the European Union next season in order to prevent price increases due to competition. “I believe that it is necessary to find a price corridor that would allow us to avoid sharp price fluctuations in the market … This is in our common interest, after the winter we will need to refill gas tanks,” she said.
