The Hangouts app is disappearing from Google Play and the AppStore

Hangouts will soon be replaced by Google Chat. To prepare everyone for this moment, the app has been removed from both Google Play and the AppStore, so new users no longer have access to it.

Last month, Google announced that Chat will become the default application for business Workspace customers. Which means that user data is already being transferred to the new service that is part of the Gmail application. To streamline the entire process and prevent new people from installing Hangouts, the company removed the application from its store as well as from the AppStore. Unfortunately, iPad users can feel the change the most, because Hangouts was characterized by a much more friendly interface for tablets compared to Google Chat.

Of course, people who have the old application installed on their devices will still have access to it, albeit with a slight difficulty. A welcome message has been introduced that automatically logs users out of Hangouts and moves them to Google Chat. However, after closing it, you can still use the application.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to enjoy access for a long time, because the application will soon be turned off completely, at least when it comes to business customers. In the case of private ones, it will probably take a little longer.
