The IAEA announced the connection of the ZNPP to the Ukrainian energy grid

VIENNA, 17 Sep – PRIME. The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant has reconnected to the Ukrainian power grid after nearly a week of using generators and backup power lines, the International Nuclear Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Saturday.
The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) of Ukraine is once again receiving electricity directly from the national grid after engineers repaired one of the four main external power lines that were damaged during the conflict.
ZNPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity. Since March, it has been under the protection of the Russian military. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation emphasized the justification for the Russian military to take under the protection of the power plant in terms of preventing leaks of nuclear and radioactive materials. The Ukrainian military regularly shell Enerhodar, the surrounding villages and the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant adjacent to the city.
